As a rising senior, I was given the opportunity to apply to become a Lehigh Admissions Fellow. I submitted my application along with my transcript this past Monday, and I think it’s still under review. It’s an activity worth trying because to me it’s gonna be a good learning experience. I heard that they only take about 20 students from the senior class across all majors. So there’s quite a competition going on, assuming a lot of people applied. It’ll be a great honor for me to represent Lehigh Admissions Office.
If I get chosen to be a admissions fellow, I will get to be involve with programmings such as the open houses, guidance counselor visits, and other recruitment programs. So if you are a incoming high school kid who is reading this post, we might get to see each other when you come visit Lehigh! You get to hear me talk about how exciting Lehigh’s engineering program is, and why Chemical Engineering is the bestest. During campus visits, I will get to interview prospective students and their families. It basically helps Lehigh to recruit the upcoming freshman class. It’s going to a huge energy and time commitment. But I think I’m up for it to fulfill my college career. This is also a paid position so it’s a lot better. I feel like I have a strong enough resume, but it’s all up in the air right now.
This job is potentially related to the Chemical Engineering department here. Because if I was granted the privilege, I could potential help admission officers select the next wave of freshman Chemical Engineering majors. Admission fellows actually requires a lot of responsibility and can make a large impact on the upcoming freshman class.
